About Us
We’ve all needed help – help taking advantage of our talents, supporting ourselves, solving a problem, making a business connection, or simply figuring out where to go and how to get there.
We got the help we needed. Now we want to help you.
We are a community of artists, academics, makers, dreamers, and performers—young and old—with one idea in common. We want the arts to flourish in this town. And we want artists to flourish too.
We designed the Innovation Lab to support creatives starting careers, businesses or looking to improve what they are doing. Our goal is simple: to offer specific solutions to concrete problems.
All our programs are free. They are made possible by the generosity of the creatives and professionals in our community.

About Broad•Side Collective
The Innovation Lab is one of several efforts created and supported by the BroadSide Collective. Its purpose is both theoretical and practical. Educators in the arts, its members are looking for ways to help the next generation of creatives take their place at the center of a democratic society – to lead, create, and reshape a turbulent world in the midst of dramatic transformation. Its mantra: “We learn by doing and question all we do.”
